College for Financial Planning®—a Kaplan Company awards scholarships that help qualified individuals cover the cost of coursework to pursue their CFP® certification, a professional designation, or a Master of Science Degree in Personal Financial Planning.
We offer:
- Diversity scholarships for CFP® certification
Our Diversity Scholarship Program for CFP® Certification awards up to 60 education scholarships annually to qualified, underrepresented candidates in the financial planning field pursuing the education requirement necessary to attain CFP® certification.
- Merit scholarships for Professional Designations, CFP® certification, and Master of Science Degrees
We award merit scholarships to individuals who show significant potential or have already achieved outstanding success in finance, financial planning, and/or financial analysis and show promise of being future industry leaders.
- Freedom scholarships for Professional Designations, CFP® certification education, and Master of Science Degrees
We award Freedom Scholarships to individuals who serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and who show significant potential or have already achieved outstanding success in finance, financial planning, and/or financial analysis, and who show promise of being future industry leaders.
- Scholarships for CFP® exam prep
Jointly offered with the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning, the College for Financial Planning®—a Kaplan Company Scholarships for CFP® Exam Prep support fostering diversity within the profession. The scholarships will cover the full cost of the College's Premium CFP® Exam Prep Review. They will be awarded to 10 individuals from underrepresented populations in the financial planning profession.
- Champions of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (CoVITA) scholarships
This scholarship program supports students, school teachers, and university faculty in Puerto Rico who volunteer with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program by providing leading financial education programs that empower participants to make a lasting impact in their communities.
Each of our available programs has different requirements, application processes, and deadlines to follow to be eligible for consideration.

Champions of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (CoVITA) scholarships are awarded to students, school teachers, and university faculty in Puerto Rico who volunteer with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Our scholarships provide access to leading financial education programs, empowering participants to make a lasting impact in their communities by helping underserved individuals and families navigate their financial futures.
Freedom Scholarships
Freedom Scholarships are available to individuals who serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and show significant potential or have already achieved outstanding success in finance, financial planning, and/or financial analysis, and who show promise of being future industry leaders.
